Stay in Position

If you read Nahum 2:1-2, you will find how Nineveh was headed for destruction and the prophet declared some precise instructions. The first instruction he gives is, "Man the fort." He instructs us to stay in position,  understand your place, get in it and stay there - don't move.

Often, we fail to understand exactly where God wants us. We know we were birthed in calling, but we fail to talk with God and listen to His direction as He guides us to our position.

Nahum placed emphasis on remaining where you have been called and fulfilling the responsibilities of that position. Often, we look for greener pastures and always desire something better. Perhaps, God has you exactly where he wants you and simply calls upon you to be faithful where He has placed you. Of every steward, God's requirement is faithfulness.

Scripture teaches that godliness with contentment is great gain. So, stay in your position. You and I are in a real battle and it's a spiritual war.  Our enemy is out to take us down, to kill, steal, and to destroy us.

Use your head and realize that when you hold your position, your adversary will attempt to undercut you. Use your heart and remember you must give honor and surrender to the authority God has placed over you. Use your spirit and submit yourself to God, realizing that He is your strength. We must stay in position and be prepared, remaining faithful and alert.
