Perhaps you’ve taken a hard dive recently. Discouragement can make you
very tired and weary, but God’s promise for you has not changed. When we rest in God and keep His commands, we are carried by an Almighty God in high places on eagles’ wings. This example of God’s provision shows the security and peace we can find in a solid relation with Christ. You are the apple of God’s eye. He loves you and desires for you to serve Him.
The Lord declares in Exodus 19:4-5, “You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine.”
Several times in Scripture the Lord compares us to a great eagle who soars the altitudes. The eagle is known for flying high in the atmosphere and for being an extremely strong bird. Keen eyesight and the ability to see miles into the distance is another amazing quality of the eagle. This incredible bird is documented for precisely and successfully identifying and attacking his prey.
Ezekiel 17:3, “And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, long winged, full of feathers, which had divers colors, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar.” The eagle dominates the sky and is not to be reckoned with. We often see the eagle in Scripture in HIGH places. God gently reminds us repetitiously to be strong, climb up HIGH and SOAR.
The circumstances that have knocked the wind out of you - have no power over you. God is greater and has promised you the altitude. My prayer for you is that God would renew your strength, and you would find yourself climbing the atmosphere again. Be encouraged, take flight and SOAR.
