I remember when one of the churches we pastored organized its' first dance team. Our girls were in their teen years and dance was something they were born to do. The moment they were able to stand up when they were babies, and pull themselves up to a stand at about 6 months old - they danced every time the music came on the radio. And so, they loved getting together with other teens and synchronizing their movements in harmony. They imitated one another, learned from one another, and mimicked each other in unison.
When we first watched the group perform, we were actually pleasantly amazed at how the group coordinated each move with such clear precision. When they moved, they did so in concert. It was synchronized movement.
Ephesians 5:1 states, "Imitate God therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children. Live a life filled with love, following Christ example because He loved us and offered Himself to us as a sacrifice, pleasing unto God."
When we imitate God - we please God with our lives. In the same way a dance team can synchronize their movements, so we should perfectly line up our hearts with God. We should practice imitating God. We should sing His Song, dance His Dance, follow His Plan, and fulfill His Purpose. We must move as He Moves in complete unity and with one coordinated harmonious effort. This is true synchronized movement.
