Travel Destinations

All the rage today is destination weddings.  Entire families and wedding parties travel to distant, exotic new places to hold their wedding celebrations.

Whenever you log onto a travel website to book a plane ticket, the first question asked is: "do you need a round trip ticket or a one way?  Once you determine your destination and where you are headed, you can clearly respond. In our spiritual life, we also must decide where we are going. What is your destination?

Scripture teaches that there is only one way to redemption and eternal life.  Redemption actually means to be purchased back; this is what Christ did for us at Calvary.  He paid the penalty for our sins with his own blood.  He alone made it possible for you and I to be forgiven. Which way will you travel?

We are therefore redeemed when we accept God's plan of forgiveness for us and we surrender our lives to Him. He desires that we walk in His will and He promises life eternal to those who willfully follow Him. Matthew 7:21 teaches, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Although we are not worthy of God's great love, Christs redemption makes us worthy to accept the righteousness of God and walk in His will. We must decide which way we will travel. Where are we going?  Once we decide - we must make a conscientious effort to get there.
