Passionate Prayer

Throughout Scripture, Christ set the example for us to pray.  When in need or when everything is going grand.....pray.  When faced with celebration or faced with trial.....pray.  He taught us to have a heart for prayer regardless of our circumstances.

The prayers of Christ were passionate prayers. He expressed His concerns, desires and petitions to the Heavenly Father with vehement cries and tears, according to Hebrews 5:7. Scripture reveals that Christ and His Father were in constant and loving fellowship. They maintained a unified bond. And Christ reminded His followers, "I am in the Father, and the Father in me." (John 14:10-11)

When Christ walked here in the flesh, there were constant distractions. People and things tried desperately to detour Christ from His purpose and destiny. Often, he was tugged on in ten different directions, but He allowed nothing to interfere with His intimate relationship with the Father. And often Christ found a solitary place to pray alone.

You and I desperately need intimate time with the Father, alone. We need to aggressively attack all hindrances to keep our time with God sacred. For it is in this time that you and I are refreshed in mind and Spirit, and are refueled with a fresh anointing from the Father.
