Hiding Place

Sometimes without any help from others, we are able to get ourselves head-deep in trouble. We stick our big foot in our mouth, we fail to crucify our flesh in our daily prayer closet, or we just simply seem to botch things up.  We get hot-headed and hinder our personal relationships with others by our own selfishness. When this happens, we desperately need a hiding place. The Psalmist shouts, "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." (Psalm 32:7)

It seems we are bent on doing things our own way. Often, we turn left when God says, "turn right!" We avoid listening to the small still voice of God as He whispers guidance into our day. And we want our own way only to find out that we are headed in the wrong direction. But God has promised to protect us from trouble, if we will heed His voice.

Deliverance from our trouble comes with the voice of song. Freedom in Christ will cause you to burst out into singing. Release from the captivity of your old life will result in a shout of liberty because you realize your shackles have fallen off and you are free. Free to live in closeness with God.

When I feel I have no one to talk to. When I think I have no one to hold me.  When I believe I have no one to run to.  I realize...God is my Hiding Place. He protects me from trouble and He surrounds me with songs of deliverance. Walk close with God in constant surrender and He will change your world. He has promised to guide you and bless you abundantly when you follow hard after Him.
