Interceding like Jesus

Most of us like praying quiet. Get us in a group and we become timid, mousy and meek, with our whispering prayers. However, deep prayer and intercession is loud. Intercession is prayers prayed with great passion and agony. It is when we become broken and affected by the need that we fervently and compassionately present it to God, as if it were our own.

Hebrews 5:7 declares, "Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears".  He emotionally and powerfully prayed. You see, the critical function of an intercessor is to agonize for the souls of man and the needs of people around him. This deep prayer and intercession grabs God's attention. And when we ask, God begins His diligent work in our behalf.

The blind man that sat by the roadside shouted and screamed aloud in his affliction to the Lord repetitiously, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me......Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me". He was loud. So loud. He cried out to the Master, the Only One able to make a difference in his life.

You and I need to practice true intercession in behalf of the needs of the hour.  For our Sovereign God truly desires that we cry out passionately to Him for answers. That we willfully and repetitiously ask Him for what we have need of.  Be assured He hears us and His desire is to give us answers to our petitions.
