There is much to be done in the Church, yet have you raised your hand to volunteer? You do not have to be prequalified to pick up trash, pass out newsletters, greet guests, clean a toilet, wash a window, create a graphic flyer, run copies to assist staff, answer a phone, counsel and pray with someone in need. What will you do with the gifts God has given you to serve Him?
When Jeremiah was young, he tried making some excuses to God. He told God that he was too young to be a prophet, but Scripture shows us that God rejected Jeremiahs' excuses. Moses had a deep calling on his life, yet he made excuses also. He told God he was inadequate and could not speak with eloquence. But God's calling was sure.
God spoke to Jeremiah and told him, "Don't say that, for you must go wherever I send you, and say whatever I tell you. And don't be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and take care of you." (Jeremiah 1:7-8 NLT)
You've been running for too long now. It's time to really live. Time to accept the commission of your calling. Time to DO what God has called you to do and serve where God wants you to serve. His Hand was upon you right from the start. And the only way to find your true purpose and significance in life, is to pursue God's Will. Because He said, "Only those who throw away their lives for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News will ever know what it means to really live!" (Mark 8:35 LB)
