Our Plans

We constantly make our plans. We like structure and schedules and  love being in control. And it is only human nature to long for control. We want it 'our way'. We set goals and scheme up our own plans and have this huge desire to set the course of our lives. Even Scripture teaches in Proverbs 16:9, "We make our own plans, but the Lord decides where we will go."
Those who walk in a right relationship with Christ fully understand that He orders the steps of the righteous, yet we plot and plan extensively.  And sometimes we fail to include God in the plan. We create schedules and plan, but do we stop to include what God wants?

We should seek goals and make plans after first calling out to God in prayer for His direction and Divine will.  He wants what is best for us and sometimes, we are unable to clearly see what is in our best interest for ourselves.  Our vision gets clouded with our own passions. We crave things we really do not need. We desire plans that sometimes will veer us off the course of the strait and narrow.

The truth is we want control over every decision when we should continuously ask God what He wants. And I have found the more I ponder the pages of Scripture and the more I bask in the presence of the Lord in my prayer closet, the more sensitive I become to God's plan.  The result of this type of intimacy with God is a humble heart that desires to please the Lord with decisions for everyday life. He will give you the desires of your heart, if your heart is totally His.

Let's spend time with God each day and open His Word, so that His Plans become our plans.
