Love

You've heard the lyrics of an old song, "What's love got to do with it?" Well, love has everything to do with it. It was love that sent our Savior Jesus to the Cross, it was love that caused Him to endure great suffering in our behalf, so we might be redeemed from sin, and it is love that is still making a difference today.

We live in a world full of evil and hate. There is a great longing in our hearts for love. We want to squelch the hate, yet how often do we make  efforts to act in love toward others? How often do we slow down in our world to hold a door open for a stranger, or assist someone in need? Do we truly reflect the love of God in our world?

However, the love of God shown in our daily lives is a direct result of our personal relationship with God Himself. If we know Him, we should display His love everyday to those around us. It should be part of our new nature.

The apostles prayer for us is, "May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones." (1 Thessalonians 3:12-13)
