Do you know that God wants to make major changes in your heart? Did you realize that although you are Oh so smart and talented that many times God really does not like who you are? He actually desires to make major changes within us. He wants a great big change. Yet, often we resist the changes God wants to make in us.
Isaiah 1:25, "I (God) will turn My Hand against you; I will thoroughly purge away your dross and remove all your impurities." It is my understanding, for fine jewelry to be of the highest quality it must go through a process of purification. The jeweler heats up the silver and what happens to the precious metal is the dross (the impurities) float to the top and must then be skimmed off in order to create the purest product.
God sometimes heats up the fire. Often God walks us through the trial. He holds our hand through the high rivers to steady us and purge away the dross from our lives. God desires to make some major changes within us! And although, we may definitely not like the process......the end product will be our heart in its' purest form. God knows what He is doing and He works all things together for our good.
