God First

Often, we say, "Jesus is Lord and God is My God."  But do we really mean it?  We say we have given God preeminence in our lives.  I have found talk is cheap. We claim to be sold-out. We say we are all-in. We tell others that God is our top priority, He is first - but is He really?

Psalm 115:4-8 shouts, "Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths but they do not speak; Eyes they have but they do not see; They have ears but they do not hear; Noses they have but they do not smell; They have hands but they do not handle; Feet they have but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat. 

Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them."

Notice who made these gods of silver and gold....we did. Yet God says, they who make these gods are just like them.  It's a sobering statement to ponder because it is certain that the worshipper tends to become a lot like the one he chooses to worship.

Daily, we choose what takes priority in our lives. Let us evaluate who/what we worship and make a decision that the True God will be our priority. Talk is cheap. Decide today to follow God above all else.
