Faithfulness

Paul taught, "Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required in stewards, that one be found faithful" (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). Here, the Word of God speaks of stewards as someone who manages the property that belongs to another. With the believer, our property is not ours. We must realize everything we have - God is the owner and He has placed us in charge of it as the manager.

Often, we ask: What is required of me? What is expected of me? And we feel as if so very much responsibility rests on our shoulders. We care about what others say about us and we should to some extent.

When others think of you as loyal, committed and trustworthy - it is a high compliment. It is a wonderful thing for someone to speak about you in a kind manner and comment that you are faithful.

All God asks of us concerning our management of what He owns is - faithfulness. Be faithful in tithing. Be faithful in giving. Be faithful in serving your Church. Be faithful in your spiritual walk with God. Be faithful in your commitments. Be faithful to your family. Be faithful to your friends. And be faithful to God. Sow seeds of faithfulness and grow an abundant harvest.
