Walking in the Spirit

We live in an image-filled world with graphics and HD and all the great tools of the media in our society. Watch a movie and you will understand that we are driven by amazing graphics. And we have become media-driven in many aspects of life. Therefore, we must be careful what our eyes see and guard our hearts from evil.

"Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary the one to the other, so that you do not do the things that you would." (Galatians 5:16-17)

Walking in the Spirit requires a daily discipline of the basics: reading the Word and praying to Almighty God. The more time we spend with God, the easier it becomes to walk spiritually upright. Walk in the Spirit and you SHALL NOT fulfill the lust of the flesh, is the promise.

The discipline of the Christian life is the guard on your heart and mind. Be careful to apply the principles of righteousness daily and avoid lust and sin. But discipline does not come easy.  It requires a price.

Lust is a drawing thought before the sin. You do not just go out and sin. First, you have a thought because Scripture teaches that we sin "when we are drawn away of our own lust and enticed." Walking in the Spirit helps us to avoid this path down the wrong road. Staying close to God and remaining disciplined in our daily lives will keep us strong.
