Have you ever been in a desperate situation where you felt like you had reached bottom and you were sucking air? You've exhausted your remedies and do not know what to do.
The prophet Hosea shouted, "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy, break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you." (Hosea 10:12) Sometimes we wake in the morning to simple, dry air. The heat/ac unit has forced out a lot of dry air and what we need is to step outdoors to God's clean, pure and fresh air.
Maybe today, you are feeling stale, dry or even spiritually inadequate. It's time to seek the Lord. If you are facing difficulty or dilemma in your decision-making, it's time to seek the Lord. If your two feet hit the floor this morning and you are breathing and alive, it's time to seek the Lord. Seek Him until you experience fresh air and a clean, pure "RAIN" of His Holy Spirit's power on your life. Isaiah teaches: "This is the refreshing".
Your ground may be hard, dry, and crusted. Every gardener will tell you that you will never experience a crop or a harvest without first breaking up the fallow ground. Perhaps it is time that you and I get the spiritual rotor-tiller out of our spiritual garages and start working on our ground. Let's make our soil pliable and available to a fresh harvest.
Our hearts must remain softened and open to the work of God, attentive to His voice and His plan for us. Then, when the seed of His Word takes root, the result will be bountiful and refreshing. And we will no longer feel as if we are sucking in dry air. We will then take a deep breath spiritually and sense the beauty of God in the moment of our day.
