Indescribable Peace

Storms are very real.  They arise out of nowhere unexpectedly, without warning or merit.  The disciples were veteran fisherman, yet they faced a great storm.  Jesus took them in a boat to the other side, but a tremendous storm arose while Jesus slept and they were afraid.

Sometimes, you and I also forget that Christ is on-board the ship.  Water begins filling the boat.  The storm sideswipes us unexpectedly and we feel as if we are going to sink, but Christ is ever-present. We must remember that Christ is the one who initiated the trip across the lake. It was all part of His Plan and Purpose.

In times of storm, I recall the name of the Lord. Isaiah 43:1–2 shouts,“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

We live by faith in His promise and walk in His peace that transcends all circumstances. It is indescribable peace. We must remember His words and what He said. He said, "Let us go over to the other side."
