Judgment

You and I often judge others on silly things like the way they wear their hair or their clothes. We make judgment calls because they wear a nose ring or have tattoos up their arm. We classify people by their posture and their smile, but do we really have the right to make these judgments?

Matthew 7:1 shouts, "Do not judge or you too will be judged." Our lives rather should reflect self-examination and humility instead of judgment. This passage in Matthew's Gospel warns against judging others and stating that if we judge, we run the risk of being judged ourselves.

Only God knows what is going on in a man's heart. It is God Himself that knows their dreams and aspirations. It is He that knows their downsitting and their uprising. Only God knows what they've walked through and where they are headed. So who are we to judge?

One day soon, there will be a serious judgment call. And you and I will not be the ones making the judgment on that day. The heavens will be peeled back and the books will be opened. "And any man not found written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be thrown into the Lake of Fire," according to Revelation 20.

My prayer is that you and I will focus on how we will be judged and seek Christ daily for a radical transformation of our hearts.
