Refreshing

There is few things quite like living outdoors in nature and seeing the beauty of God's incredible creation.  It's refreshing to step out into clean, fresh air, stand by a rushing creek, and pick an apple off the tree. It's a great experience to eat produce directly from your garden and watch bluebirds fluttering around in your plush, green yard. The Word of the Lord is refreshing like a glass of ice cold water on a hot summer day. It is sweeter than honey and those that keep its' precepts are blessed with favor and abundance.

The Psalmist teaches, "The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold, They are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.......in keeping them there is great reward." (Psalm 19:7-10)

When you expose your heart and mind to the Word of the Lord, your soul receives a washing. You are refreshed and cleansed like standing under an amazing water fall. Take time today to gaze into the pages of Scripture and let God do something amazing in your life. You will never be the same.
