If you are anything like me, you may have purchased a few reasonably priced umbrellas over the years. Unfortunately, they are not made very sturdy and cannot sustain heavy weather conditions. Perhaps you feel as if your life has collapsed like an umbrella in a terrible wind or you’ve taken a hard dive recently. Discouragement can make you very tired and weary, but God’s promise for you has not changed.
Did you realize that an eagle can fly directly into strong storm winds and remain resilient? The eagle actually utilizes the gusts of storm winds in his favor to fly higher and stronger than ever.
When we rest in God and keep His commands, we are carried by an Almighty God who sits in high places. This example of God’s provision shows the security and peace we can find in a solid relation with Christ. You are the apple of God’s eye. He loves you and desires for you to serve Him.
The Lord declares in Exodus 19:4-5, “You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine.”
Several times in Scripture the Lord compares us to a great eagle who soars the altitudes. The eagle is known for flying high in the atmosphere and for being an extremely strong bird. Keen eyesight and the ability to see miles into the distance is another amazing quality of the eagle. This incredible bird is documented for precisely and successfully identifying and attacking his prey. Stand strong in the Lord and realize He watches over you and is carrying you on eagle's wings.
