We struggle with listening when others are talking. We are impatient on many occasions when we are called upon to wait. We want everything instantaneously and our patience is short. Have you noticed ever having a conversation with someone who keeps talking regardless of your interjections?
Often, we talk way too much. We seldom take time to really listen to those around us, especially to God. Scripture declares we should be, "swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." It is certain that we now take time to be completely still before the Father. If we are always in a hurry or constantly talking...we will fail to get to know God and truly hear His voice.
We also fail to wait on God for answers because we are extremely impatient people. We want results and we want them right now. We want solutions to our problems and we cannot seem to wait on God to intervene. We are so smart, we seem to have all the answers and we know exactly what God should do to meet our need. Seldom do we wait on God for the correct time, the right answer or the clear solution.
Perhaps we need to Stop Talking, Start Listening & Wait.
The Psalmist declared, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10) When we shake ourselves and remember He is God and nothing is too hard for Him, we will start listening and wait.
