Sometimes when we come before God, we really do not know what to say. And often, we just do not know how to pray. But in Scripture, Jesus taught us the way to pray. In Luke 1 Jesus said to His disciples, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation."
If we only realized the power we have through prayer. We would never stop praying. It is prayer that moves the Hand of God. It is prayer that brings the Spirit to convict of sin. It is prayer that heals and sets free. It is prayer that changes circumstances and opens doors that have been closed tightly. Prayer is our amazing link to the realm of the Spirit. It is the tool through which we enter the Throne Room.
God also wants us to acknowledge Him for who He is and give Him honor. We must approach Him humbly with a heart that cries for forgiveness and help. We must recognize that He is Our Sovereign God. Then, if we want to live successfully in this life, we must ask God for provision and guidance to help every step of the way. Life is hard and we need God. The more we come to realize how desperately we need the help of a loving and compassionate Savior, the better we will see things work out according to God's will.
