The Fear of the Lord

God works in His own time and we must respect and fear His plans and ways.  For they are much higher than our ways.  God is a holy God who always has our best interests at heart.  Our fear and honor of God must not only be verbal, but must originate from the deep places of our hearts.  For it is easy to say with our mouth that we love and fear God, but the question is "Are we willing to act and respond when He calls upon us to do something substantial for Him?"

Proverbs 9:10 declares, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". This kind of fear means that we revere God, and that we esteem and regard Him highly, as the Only True and Sovereign God.  We realize that He knows what is best for us.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 states, "...what does the Lord your God ask of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good."

As we follow God and respond to His guidance - we will see everything God directs truly works together for our good.
