Fruit Unto Life

I remember going to the orchard with my grandma when I was young to pick apples. I was amazed how vast and plenteous the fruit on the rows and rows of beautiful trees was. I could look around and see the beauty of what God had made.

Romans 7:4-6 teaches that you and I died to the law that we might belong to Christ and bear fruit to God. "For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit unto death. But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in a new way in the Spirit..."

Before accepting Christ into your life, your path is maneuvered by the passions of the sinful nature. Your fruit in the old life was 'unto death', but now that you have committed to Christ, your fruit should be 'unto life'- bearing fruit unto God and pleasing God with every aspect of your life.

Walking with Christ changes the old ways of sinful man and frees us from the old sinful nature to walk in newness and freedom with Christ. Let us sow seeds and reap a harvest that is 'fruit unto life'.  Do not be barren, but grow and cultivate fruit.
