Rest

At times we grow weary and even physically tired and need to sit down and rest.  Sometimes, we need to climb up on the bed with a cozy blanket and take a nap.  Our mind gets flooded with so many  things going on in our families that we need rest.

In Bible times, Jesus walked among the suffering and those who needed Him the most: the broken, the wounded, the diseased, the hard-hearted, the sinner, the depressed, the lonely.  Christ was all about reaching out in love to others and showing compassion to a hurting world. He desires to give us rest.

Maybe you are the one who is hurting today. You've landed in a bad relationship or cannot seem to shake the depression that has plagued your mind.  You are hurting and Christ is here for you. He stands ready to touch the deep places of your heart.  He reaches out for you and says, "Come unto me, all ye who are heavy laden....And I will give you rest."

In Matthew 5:44-45, Jesus declared: "But I say unto you, love your enemies.  Pray for those who hurt you. If you do this, you will be true children of God in heaven."  It's important that you do not seek revenge on those who have wronged you through the years.  Rather, give it to God.

Choose to walk with Christ today.  Let Him heal your brokenness and make you whole. Take your needs to Him and let Him give you rest.
