Control

Sometimes our emotions are out of control. But temperance and self-control is vitally important to the christian believer. We must practice remaining in control of the carnal man by dedicating ourselves to prayer and the Word of God. It will not likely be easy to remain in control at all times, however we should strive to triumph.

Your adversary would love to ruin your testimony by causing you to be "out of control". So work hard at discipline and character of heart through daily communion with Jesus. Your enemy knows that if he can lower your influence on others, you just may not be able to win them to Christ.

In Matthew 5:43, Jesus said, "You have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you and to those who hate you, do good; pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you; that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven."

Do not retaliate when faced with wrongdoing, but be careful to prove yourself to God as children of the Father in all manner of action and words.
