Everywhere I turn people are busy, so busy. We run around in circles and sometimes seem to get very little accomplished. One thing I have determined is that busyness will throw your schedule into chaos and stress you out. When we rush around with our own plans, our schedule just gets farther behind. But when we begin our day with prayer and then work diligently as we are led by the Spirit, our careful & prayerful planning yields fruitful results for the long haul. We can seek the Lord even about the small things in our lives. He desires a relationship with us.
Proverbs 21:2-5 declares, "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. A haughty look, a proud heart, And the plowing of the wicked are sin. The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty." So, are we just busy or are we diligent?
Often, we want everything done our way. We are always right and everyone else is wrong. We may never say that out loud - but it is true. We must strive to walk in obedience according to God's Word and refuse to make hasty plans and decisions. If we seek God first, the promise is that He will direct the decisions of our life. He will give us godly wisdom and speak to us concerning our future. And our busyness will be turned into diligence.
