Throughout Scripture, we are encouraged to always, in every circumstance, conduct ourselves as Christ would. We are admonished to treat others with the genuine love of Christ. So often, when someone does us wrong - in the deep places of our heart, we just want to take revenge. But his is not God's way for us.
If our enemy needs food, we are instructed to feed him. If he needs drink, we are taught to provide it. Then, as we strive to display attitudes and conduct of godliness, we can rest in God knowing that He will avenge our enemies. "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."
Therefore, we must be careful NOT to ponder the wrongdoings of others, but seek to shame them solely with the love of Christ. Think on the good, the pure, and the lovely and let God repay the debt of wrong against you.
